Dogs are allowed on leashes in all town parks, except Ford Park or within 100 feet of an athletic field. Dogs must be leashed within the Town of Vail, in Vail Village, Lionshead Mall, on all bike paths, and in all the town parks except for Bighorn and Stephens parks. Both Bighorn and Stephens parks are dog friendly parks and dogs may be off their leash and controlled by voice command, with the exception of the playground areas. Please note that dogs are not allowed to upload the gondola but if you hike to the top, the gondola is free to download both person and pet. Pet pickup bags are provided throughout town for your convenience, but never leave home without one! |

Dog Park in Vail: Booth Falls & Booth Lake Hiking Trails Leahed dogs welcome on this 7.8 mile hike in the White River National Forest up a 3000 foot uphill climb with a 60 foot waterfall with amazing views worth the moderate hike (7 hours round trip). The trail is primarily for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding. The Booth Falls hike is 4 miles round trip with 1000-1500 ft elevation. The trailhead is one mile off I-70 at the East Vail exit with an 18 parking spot lot that gets full; you must hike up the road a few steps past the gate to the trailhead sign and trail register.
